PRIVACY POLICY

The type of personal data we will collect from you will include your name, address, contact details, enquiry details, identification data, and payment details.
When you first contact us, whether in person, by phone, email or via our website, we will collect only the data needed to process your enquiry. More sensitive information, such as your identification and payment details, will only be collected if you proceed with a booking for your removal.
Personal data will only be collected for the purpose identified within this statement, and we will not collect any data that is not relevant to this purpose.

In providing us with your personal details so that we can provide you with a quotation, we have your implicit consent to process this information in order to handle your enquiry. You are able to withdraw your consent at any time, but please note that we may not be able to handle your request if you do so as processing your data is necessary for the provision of our services. If you withdraw your consent for marketing purposes, we will continue to process your data solely for the provision of quotations and removal services as necessary.

The personal data we collect from you helps us to understand your removal requirements and ensures that we provide you with the correct quotation for your needs. Data collected is also used to fulfil your booking if you decide to proceed with us

We may occasionally send you promotional emails about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find useful in connection with your removal, using the email address you have provided.

PROTECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA

Scotremovals hold personal information (Account Data) in both physical and electronic formats and have in place suitable physical, technological and managerial procedures to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, and to safeguard and secure the information we collect. The account data may include your name, email address, ‘to’ and ‘from’ locations, item details, move dates. The source of the account data is you. The legal basis for this processing is our legitimate interests, namely the performance of a contract between you and us and taking steps, at your request, to enter into such a contract.

We may process information relating to transactions, including purchases of goods and services, that you enter into with us and/or through our website ("transaction data"). The transaction data may include your contact details, and the transaction details. We never store card details ourselves, however, details may be stored by a PCI compliant third-party payment gateway to facilitate payments and refunds should these be applicable.

Passing additional pick up and drop off data to AnyVan: It is your responsibility to notify any additional parties required for the fulfillment of the move at the pick up and drop off that their data is being provided to AnyVan for the purposes of the move.

We may disclose your personal data to our insurers and/or professional advisers insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes of obtaining or maintaining insurance coverage, managing risks, obtaining professional advice, or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, whether in court proceedings or in an administrative or out-of-court procedure.

We may disclose address, contact names, phone numbers, and item details to our

Partner drivers insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes of providing the transportation services you have requested. The partner drivers are only allowed to use and retain your data to allow the service you have requested to complete.

In addition to the specific disclosures of personal data set out in this Section 4, we may disclose your personal data where such disclosure is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which we are subject, or in order to protect your vital interests or the vital interests of another natural person. We may also disclose your personal data where such disclosure is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, whether in court proceedings or in an administrative or out-of-court procedure.

We may disclose Transport Partner contact data (name, phone number, vehicle details) to you insofar as reasonably necessary for the purposes of providing the transportation services you have requested. You are only allowed to use and retain this data to allow the service you have requested to complete.

We may update this policy from time to time by publishing a new version on our website. You should check this page occasionally to ensure you are happy with any changes to this policy.

Your principal rights under data protection law are:

If you have expressed interest in related services provided by our partners, we will share your information with them so that they can give you further details on these: in these circumstances, only the information needed to arrange contact and define the service required will be shared.

It may be necessary at times to share your data with a third-party organisation outside of the European area and therefore to countries who may not have the same levels of control as those within Europe. The information we share will be that which is required to provide a service you have requested and we will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your data is protected, for example by using FIDI accredited agents whenever possible.
