Quotes and prices
How do I get an instant removal quote?
Choose the service, enter the collection and delivery details, select your move date and build an accurate inventory. The website then calculates the available price options from the information supplied.
Do I need to provide a phone number to see a price?
No. You can start the online quotation without a phone call. Contact details are requested when needed to save, send or book the quotation.
Why is the item list important?
Every selected item contributes to the estimated cubic volume, vehicle requirement and handling time. A complete item list produces a more reliable price.
Can I change my items before booking?
Yes. Add or remove items from your selected inventory and refresh the price before payment.
What if I cannot find an item?
Choose the closest suitable item or use our separate photo and video quotation service. Include a clear view of each room and any unusually large, fragile or heavy objects.
Are prices inclusive of VAT?
Yes. Prices shown by Scot Removals are inclusive of VAT unless a quotation clearly states otherwise.
Can the price change?
It can change if the inventory, route, access, move date, extra services or other material details change. Review all details before booking.
Are ferry charges included?
Where a route requires a ferry, the website applies the relevant ferry adjustment to the removal quotation. Ferry routes and availability may still require confirmation.
Inventory and cubic metres
What does m³ mean?
m³ means cubic metres: the estimated space your items occupy when prepared for transport. It helps determine the suitable vehicle and storage container.
Does the cubic volume equal the outside dimensions of every item?
Not exactly. The calculator uses the website inventory values and quantities as a practical loading estimate. Shape, dismantling and safe stacking can affect the final space used.
Will my selected items stay if I go back?
The quote journey saves progress on the same device so you can move between steps without re-entering the inventory. Avoid clearing browser storage or switching devices before finishing.
Can Scot Removals prepare my inventory from photographs or video?
Yes. Use the dedicated room photo and video quotation page. This is separate from the normal instant quote so the team can review the media and send a prepared quotation.
Container storage
How is my storage size selected?
Your inventory creates an estimated cubic volume. Up to 13 m³ is normally matched to a 10-foot container, over 13 m³ to 26 m³ to a 20-foot container, and over 26 m³ to 52 m³ to a 40-foot container or two 20-foot containers.
How much does storage cost?
The current guide prices are £160 per month for a 10-foot container, £240 per month for a 20-foot container and £400 per month for up to 52 m³. These monthly prices include VAT and are shown separately from collection and delivery.
Do I need to find a storage address?
No. Scot Removals arranges the container storage and remains your point of contact. You provide the collection address and the return delivery details when known.
Can I book storage without knowing the final delivery address?
Yes. You can request storage first and provide the onward delivery details later. The return delivery is quoted separately when its route and access are known.
Are the container photographs exact?
They are realistic visual guides showing typical capacity and scale. The actual container appearance and facility may vary, and final capacity depends on safe loading and item shape.
What if my load is larger than 52 m³?
The team will review the inventory and arrange a multi-container storage plan with a confirmed monthly price.
Can every item go into container storage?
Tell us before booking about hazardous, perishable, illegal, exceptionally valuable or temperature-sensitive items. Some goods cannot be accepted or may need specialist storage.
Collection, delivery and access
Why do you ask about floors, lifts, stairs and steps?
Access changes the labour, equipment and time needed. Include the floor at both addresses, whether a working lift is available, external steps and any narrow routes.
What should I say about parking?
Tell us where the removal vehicle can legally stop and the approximate walking distance to the property. The customer is responsible for arranging any required parking permission or suspension unless agreed otherwise.
Can you move items through a narrow doorway?
Provide measurements and photographs when access is tight. Some furniture may need dismantling, and certain items require a specialist access plan.
Do you cover moves outside Glasgow?
Yes. Scot Removals handles local moves around Glasgow and Paisley as well as moves across Scotland and wider UK routes.
Piano and office moves
What details are needed for a piano move?
Select the piano type and provide both addresses, floor positions, lifts, external steps, pathway surface and enough detail about the internal manoeuvring space.
What piano types can I select?
The specialist piano form includes upright, digital, baby grand and grand piano options. Grand piano work may require additional planning and ground-to-ground access.
What happens if there are elevated steps?
Select yes and enter the number of steps at collection and delivery. Photographs help the team confirm equipment and staffing.
What information is needed for an office move?
List desks, chairs, filing cabinets, IT equipment, meeting furniture and other contents, then add access, parking, floor and lift information for both locations.
Can an office move be planned outside normal hours?
Add the required timing and building restrictions to the quotation. The team will confirm availability and any effect on the price.
Booking, payment and changes
When is my booking confirmed?
Your move is confirmed after the required payment succeeds and a booking confirmation is issued. A saved or emailed quote by itself is not a confirmed booking.
Is online payment secure?
Payment details are handled through Stripe's secure payment technology. Scot Removals does not store your full card details.
Can I return from payment without losing my quote?
Yes. Use the back control to return to the Scot Removals quotation. Your saved details should remain on the same device.
Can I amend a confirmed booking?
Use your booking reference or contact Scot Removals. Changes to items, addresses, access, date or services can create an additional payment or refund. Late changes may be subject to the booking terms.
What if I need to cancel?
Contact Scot Removals promptly with the booking reference. Eligibility for a refund depends on the timing and the terms accepted at booking.
Will I receive an email?
Quote and booking emails are sent to the address supplied. Check spam or junk folders if the message does not appear, and confirm that the email address was entered correctly.
